Imagine you’ve just discovered a treasure that’s been locked away in your grandparents attic for years. A cedar chest full of pictures and trinkets and garments from decades ago. You rummage through the precious collection of family heirlooms and that’s when you find the warmest, coziest and beautifully scrappy wool sweater. It’s soft and warm and smells of lavender and of course the cedar chest it’s been hiding in all these years. You try it on and it fits like a glove, enveloping you in its softness and you are in love. You wear it everywhere and it becomes your most favorite piece of clothing you have. This bar is inspired by that cozy feeling that sustains you through the colder, darker months. Go ahead and try on Sweater Weather and see how it fits! 

Ingredients: Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, castor oil, sodium lactate, sodium hydroxide (lye), goat milk, colloidal oatmeal, essential oils of Bulgarian lavender, cedarwood, cassia, nutmeg, patchouli, & copaiba.

What is Cold Process Soap?

Cold process soap is made from scratch with lye and oils, giving full control over every ingredient, but it requires lye safety precautions and a 4–6 week cure before the bars are ready while melt and pour soap is pre-made soap base that is melted, customized, re-molded and is ready to use the same day.

Unlike melt and pour, which relies on a pre-made commercial base, cold process lets the maker hand-select skin-nourishing oils, customize fatty acid profiles, and avoid synthetic detergents or extra surfactants often baked into commercial bases. it requires careful calculation and measuring of every ingredient to make a successful batch.

Cold process soap makes for a harder, denser bar that lasts longer in the shower.
